We have set a record 3 years in a row with our corn crop. 2024 gave us a corn yield about 40 bushels over APH across our whole farm. I feel like we have a pretty good system for growing corn, so where do we go from here?
We farm mostly sandy soils with a lot of it that is poorly drained. We strip till most of our corn following soybeans. We run pop-up in furrow, liquid N 2x2x2, and then VR Y drop the remaining N around v5-v8. We spread AMS in the spring preplant to get our sulfur to last through the summer and we just started putting dry fertilizer in our strips this past fall (previously we broadcast dry fertilizer and then made strips). All of our corn gets sprayed with fungicide via airplane. We have done a little testing with Boron but had mixed results.
Whats next? Where do we go from here?

I assume that you have or are in the process of taking care of your drainage issues. We started pattern tiling 20 years ago on our heavy black ground and have a little over 1/2 of our farm pattern tilled. We found out the worse the drainage issue, the higher the ROI from pattern tiling. I'm assuming that your in several drainage districts with your sandy soils. This would make it easier tiling because you probably don't have to cross as many neighbors to gain an outlet. In our area most of the easy tiling jobs are done and some of the mains are over a mile long with several landlords to go across before getting to an outlet.
