Needed Full-time Sprayer Operator

Kansas Family Farm, Crane Farms, seeks a dedicated full-time sprayer/equipment operator.

Situated eight miles east of Larned, KS with ground in Pawnee an Stafford counties, our progressive, expanding farm requires an individual with proficiency in operating John Deere sprayers (currently running a 2021 JD 612R), leveraging the latest technology. A fundamental grasp of John Deere sprayers and basic math skills are necessary.

Additionally, when not engaged in spraying, the candidate will assist with other farming activities (ground tillage, harvesting or hauling grain, irrigation maintenance, maintaining farm equipment, etc.) All on-farm work is divided among the owner, full-time agronomist, operations specialist, and farm hand, all long-term employees. The ideal candidate would work well with this established group, pitching in where needed.

Looking to relocate? Housing is available on-farm. A 2 bed, 1 bath house with basement and nice yard is available to rent.

Required:

• Experience in operating sprayers
• Attention to detail
• Responsibility and self-motivation - capable of working autonomously or with a team and showing up on time
• Row crop farming experience (corn, milo, soybeans, and wheat)
• Possess knowledge of GPS and precision farming techniques

Optional:

• Preferred experience operating other heavy equipment (tractors, combines, etc.)
• Preferred center pivot irrigation systems experience
• Commercial Applicators certificate - we can help the candidate attain this if necessary.
• CDL - we can help the candidate attain this if necessary.
