Great Plains 3000 turbo till

Question

Looking for reviews of this tillage tool. We are considering buying one, but have not seen one work.

they don’t move much dirt if you want to cover corn stalks or grass. Not the tool for you but great for finishing a field. I traded mine off for the terra max like it so far but only 160 acres in.

I also bought a terra max, I like it, I have been over about 2000 acres with it. It can be set up to be very aggressive to just being a finisher. Dont short your self on horse power it takes speed to make them work properly.

 I love mine 18 foot turbo till. Wanted true vertical till not angled blades to create shear layer. To me it chopped up corn stalks very well. But if you want to cover residue you may not like it it leaves it all on top of ground. Alo I would figure on the high side of horsepower needed

I've ran a 30' on wheat pasture ground for 2 years. Predominantly no till across the board, but have had difficulties on no tilling continuous wheat pasture ground due to compaction.  Wanted something to just lift and fracture the soil to make ready for planting.  It does a wonderful job as long as there is enough moisture. Will follow turbo till with grain drill and it plants beautifully. 
 Definitely need the hp to get the speed though. Used a Case IH 245 (248hp) first year and could only get 7 mph. Used a Case IH MX285 (287hp) this year and could achieve 8 mph easy, 9 if I pushed it. Lot better results with the extra speed. Got a Case IH 305 lined up for next year, ought to be just right.
