What would the cost difference between owning your own tile plow vs hiring your tiling done?

Uasally helps if your willing to buy the tile by the semiload, to get better pricing. Some times in off season,the prices are better....

Thank you all of my farms have creeks that run through them. I have my own outlet and have 160 acre field that needs tile bad.

I have also found that aside from the custom installers cost per foot, they mark up tile as well. I buy Prinsco virgin pipe and it’s around 29¢ for 4”. The quotes I got before I bought a plow were around 34¢ so you may check into that as well

Yeah I would do it in a heartbeat then. I use my topography maps and see how the layout should go, then I go survey the runs and make sure it all works before I start installing. It would be nice to have the sms and be able to design it all on the computer then go lay tile, but sms isn’t cheap and I already have a platform for my other data. You can get sms and build the design for all the fields ...

I bought a gold digger stealth zd in 2017 and pull it with my 9400 on 710’s

I love the machine and I have just over 40k in it with all new gps and agleader monitor. If you have an agleader monitor and globes you could probably get in substantially cheaper.

I am fortunate and have good outlets on most of my farms, so a plow makes sense for me. Depending on field size and topography we can usually ...

Most guy's around here charge double of plastic cost to install, depends if it is an easy install or a tough one. Your GPS equipment will cost approximately 20,000 for good used stuff. It depends if you are doing the whole farm, or just a little.....

There is a cost savings on your own installation of drainage systems. However some things to consider with that savings. #1 is your time, a good tile install takes time . You need a plan, and people. #2 is equipment- the investment in the proper equipment can be very expensive. Im not just talking a good tractor or even tile plow. Keep in mind you need a backhoe, tile trailer, and a pretty good GP...
