Fraud Advisory in Africa - Organizations Posing as FBN

FBN Network

Jan 03, 2023

A common fraud is being communicated to farmers throughout Africa. Typically, farmers are told to submit payment for FBN® membership, which they are told is required to receive small holder grant funding from their national ministry of Agriculture.

Farmers are sent fake FBN membership credentials and official looking letters from someone posing as their national ministry of agriculture.  These documents are not real.

These requests for payment are 100% illegitimate, and farmers should not submit payment. FBN has no employees in Africa and is only available to farmers in the US, Canada, Australia, and Brazil.

If you are contacted by someone posing as an FBN employee in Africa, please report the matter to your national ministry of Agriculture.

Does FBN have Operations in Kenya or anywhere in Africa?

No. FBN has no operations or employees in Kenya or anywhere in Africa.

Is FBN Membership Valid in Africa?

No. FBN membership is only available in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Brazil.

If My Ministry of Agriculture Says FBN Membership is required, is this legitimate?

No. FBN membership is not available outside of the US, Canada, Australia and Brazil.
