These scalpel blades are as sharp or sharper than the competition's, and are precision manufactured so that there is nearly no variation from blade to blade or between different production lots. These blades undergo a special heat treatment that controls hardness and reduces risk of breakage. They are then individually foil packaged using two VPI (Vapor Protector Inhibitor) Strips, one on each side of the blade. While one strip is sufficient to inhibit rusting, the use of two strips increases foil pack strength and reduces the risk of the blade piercing the foil. Each production batch is sampled and tested to confirm seal integrity and ensure that the product is shipped sterile. All aspects of production, quality control and quality assurance for these blades have been audited and certified by the FDA. The same quality systems are ISO9001 certified and all products carry the prestigious CE mark.
