I am looking at updating my 35 foot JD flex head to a JD 735 flex Draper, is it worth the cost/Maint

Yes, definitely worth the upgrade in my opinion. We went from a 630F to a 735FD this year. Larger harvesting window during the day, less header loss, combine was more efficient and had a better tank sample because of the consistent feeding. One of the more noticeable equipment upgrades we’ve made.

Drapers do a nice job feeding especially if you have crary air system. Having center air tube support and more contour flex for uneven ground. Have top crop augers on head mainly for field peas so head can easily over feed combine capacity. Use on rye field peas spring wheat and soybeans

We run a pair of 640 flex drapers that we bought used and have had no problem with them, your limited by the capacity of the combine with drapers not by what the header can do especially in tough conditions
