New Farmer North/East Colorado

Hello, my family used to be Wheat Farmer up until my Father passed away 26 years ago when we got out of the business. My brother and our families are looking into get back into farming. It is a lifestyle we miss and want our own families to experience and be apart of. I am looking for any sort of advice or resource's that you recommend on crop and livestock management. We are looking at being diverse in crops and getting into livestock as well. We will definitely be tested through this process but are up for the challenge and hard work that comes with it. Do you have any recommendations for a new farmer looking at starting out?

Take advantage of the numerous USDA programs for new/beginning farmers. Talk with anyone and everyone at the usda office and you might be surprised what programs that you qualify for. Equip and subsidies have been a big boost to my operation once I got started 2 years ago. I’m in Texas, so some of our programs may not apply in your area.
