Experience with VR 2x2

I am wanting to try variable rating 2x2 on some corn acres this year. We run 28% with a little bit of thiosul mixed in. Does changing rates by yield zones or soil types make more sense? How much variance should there be between them?

I VR 2x2 based on yield zones. Works well if you have solid yield data. Start out by using three zones. A low medium and high. This way you will maintain your average rate across the field but applying it more effectively. The more confident you become with your data and results, the more zones you will add in the future.
