Has anyone used Liquid Calcium on soybeans/alfalfa? If so, what are your thoughts

Verified FBN Member (NC)

we run a mixed amount of calcium in out infurrow fertilizer on all our beans seems to help lots here in clay ground of north Carolina

Yes I have for years now and corn silage with profitability

I do on my alfalfa with my fungicide and insecticide program and I can definitely see at least a visual improvement but never yield checked it.

What products do you use and do you kmow the application rate?

Verified FBN Member (IA)

i have used many different forms, like the Brandt products but with ordering, delivery, and package size, and the product isn't on hand here in corn country, i was happy to see that FBN has several different mixes. The FBN product i am using this year is 10% calcium with boron and spreading it out over 3-4 applications depending on weather and tissue analysis. I am in a high demand area for pure alfalfa small squares so i spend money on my hay.

I cant seem to find that product on here. Do you know the name by chance?

Verified FBN Member (IA)

You can't use the app, use a computer with a browser. I already talked to fbn for some reason the app won't show the fertilizer tab in direct but a computer or laptop will on the website

Wonderful. Thank you I appreciate it!

If you want to order it you have to call a rep or local guy, but it does come in jugs and shuttles but you need to scroll around to find the group them by package size not by product under the category

Verified FBN Member (MI)

Okay thank you. Did you apply this before or after a cutting?

Verified FBN Member (IA)

1st cutting isn't off yet but will do at green up after cutting

Glad to see this question here. I've bought enough for 500 acres to give it a try on beans. Just broadcast with pre's and post. I'm hoping it provides r.o.i. here in southern Illinois.

we mix in with our infurrow feet. on the beans does good.

We farm nuts, so different, but we use lots of liquid calcium. Both foliar and soil applied. We like Stoller products, sett foliar, root feed soil.

Test your mixture in a jar first. Some mixes turn to rock. Hard to get out of equipment.
