Is anyone else frustrated with John Deere's technology?

Am I the only one who constantly struggles with John Deere's software and monitors? Every season is calls to the dealership and YouTube videos trying to figure it out. There are updates that are supposed to help but seldom do.

Why must I leave MyJohnDeere.com and go to an app to transfer data? Prescriptions and set up must be saved in a folder and then unzipped, a button that says transfer would be to simple, I bet FBN has programers that could make it work!

Why must all guidance lines be named? I just want to go in a straight line. And many more issues.

The local dealership is trying but it seems like we're all using TRS technology! If someone tells me to unplug the monitor and plug it back in one more time II might just lose it! When was the last time you did that at home. If Apple turned out something like that the would be out of business tomorrow.

I'm just frustrated to spend good money on such technology that is so difficult to use. I gain very good data, but it takes to much time and effort.

If you agree let me know. If you have other issues post them and maybe we can help each other out while JD moves out of the 1990's

I've always thought the same thing but after talking with a lot of people in the industry it sounds like Deere actually has a better system than most. It seems so odd to me that they have such a large, clunky screen that seems so outdated. It seems like they should be able to have ipad apps that would do all the same things but be much simpler. And the Apex system is horrendous. I was told onc...

I think you are right. FBN spoiled me. This app isn't perfect but it works better than anything else I have used in the at industry. Deere just isn't user friendly. If a person did it every day it might be easier but planting and harvesting 2 times a year it seems like I spend way to much time watching utube videos and on the phone to the dealership than I should.

I keep lines simple and short. EWN east west on north side of field. Direction of line first and side of field last. Same on all fields

Everyone on our farm says the same thing, Greenstar is the least user friendly. If I didn't have a good dealer with phone support, I would have given up on it long ago.

We bought a 4720 JD sprayer 12 years ago and that was our first piece of JD tech since then all of our equipment has GPS in it. When we got the sprayer it was overwhelming trying to learn the monitors but once you get the hang of them they are nice to work with. But like all tech it is great when it works but supper annoying when it doesn't (which happens to often imo)

We purchased a used self propelled sprayer two and 1/2 years ago. The dealership was ZERO help...they didn't understand it either. What we went through was a horrific struggle. The John Deere software for this sprayer is not even slightly intuitive. U tube was the very best help.

Spend the time to learn the in’s and out’s and you won’t be disappointed. As far as names of lines, try to keep things consistent. Field names, line names whatever. I will say it’s an on going battle keeping lines the same when you have other operators

****** don’t feel alone, i have had a lot of frustration with Deere technology as well. I am not sure what version of equipment you have but i will say the newer stuff is better. We had a few issues with Gen 4 stuff this spring but for the. Most part was not terrible. My frustration comes in the fact that they are so far behind climate in the ability to do yield analysis by hand drawn regions o...

I think jd software and monitors are the easiest to use in the industry. I'm disappointed that they went to a fee busted yearly subscription. Thay took all the profits out for the technology.

I have 2013 and newer , not too bad, if you make sure you get updates installed in the spring

Precision Planting works better, and uploads to myJohn Deere

I am very pleased with the Deere software & technology. Updates are crucial. Pay the Deere rep a little to do updates for you spring & fall. VRS seeding is right on. Easy to delete old lines & make new or save old. Just name 1/2/3 if easier. Awesome auto upload to Pioneer and FBS if you allow.
