Any experience with aftermarket auto boom height on Deere sprayers? (4720) Good? Bad? Brands?
Running a Deere 4720. Just looking at trying to get auto boom on it if possible. Everyone that is running “30” series says they like it but a whole machine update is not on the list right now.
I’ve used the Greentronics system in a Case 4420 with 100’ boom. It’s sold as AutoGlide XR in the US and you can choose between a 2,3,4 or 5 sensor system. System has a self calibration mode after it is put on and has a stand-alone control box. Runs about $6800. Works great
Ok. Thanks a lot for info!
I have run a Norac auto boom for 10 years on a 4720 and have had great luck
NORAC also works splendidly on both their passive roll and active roll systems. What does it cost for a retrofit for that system?
I have a Norac on my 4720, I love it!
We have a 5 sensor Norac system on our 4920 that my grandpa got talked into by a salesman that told him it was better than boomtrac. Unless the field is pretty much flat I'm better off running the booms manually. I am a former JD Sprayer tech and I have worked on all sorts of Boomtrac system problems and none of them have ever been as bad as the norac system we have and I have checked and calibrated everything and I've contacted Norac directly and tried everything they could come up with and nothing makes it react better. Also most Norac or aftermarket systems ad separate valve and hydraulic plumbing keeping your hydraulic pump always in stroke.
I didn't think the boom Hydraulics were sourced by a load sensing pump? How does that work if you need to make a change quickly?
I have a 5 sensor Norac system in my shop with reconditioned sensors that I took off my 4920 if you are interested
Ok. Did you not like it?
