Killing cover crops

2 years ago started playing with cover crops, mostly winter rye, and planting soybeans into the stand and spraying it the same day or next day.

Both previous years it was the last field I planted and the rye was in boot stage. Mid to late May.

I used Round-Up the first year and Gramoxone the second year.

Curious what others use to kill their cover crops.

A quart of roundup with a good oil and silicon is the best way to kill rye. Gramoxone doesn’t do as good of a job. Need to give the round up about 48 hours before planting so it will translocate. Add a spike of Dicamba
