What is the best way to get fertilizer applied to alfalfa and grass hay?

I am looking for the most cost effective way to fertilize may hay (alfalfa & grass). Is liquid or dry better? I have about 250 acres to do so I am look at a huge cost, I want to make sure I do the right thing.

We always fertilize after 1st & 3rd with dry potash and blend gypsum & k in the fall.

We run liquid 28 with water and 5-15-15

Dry is always going to be more cost effective per unit. Do it in the fall.though.

I would recommend dry because you need a lot of k for alfalfa and it gets really expensive in liquid forms

I’ve tried dry on grass and it’s not NEAR as good as liquid 28. I was makin over twice the hay after I switched to liquid. But alfalfa I have no idea
