What is the best way to apply conventional fertilizer at planting with planter with cotton? Cannot be in-furrow! I do not want to spend the extra on popup fertilizer. Cotton is the most sensitive seed to the salt index. Phosphorus needs to be placed 4"-6" deep and 2" offset from seed. We have been putting down 17-17-0-5. Open to dry or liquid solutions, we just don't have a cart to pull dry.

Can never get the 4"-6" deep with planter in my experience. We were pulling a dry cart behind the planter but couldn't ever get the dry placement just right. We just switched to the Conceal system by Precesion Planting to put liquid out.

We are going to run conceal this year and try that route.
