With a grain pump motor is 4 ft off the ground instead of 100’. Cheaper. Takes less hp so you may not need a vfd, depending on your power provider. I chose one over an air system so I could use it to fill bins when not drying. But they are still quite costly. But if you want to automate a dryer unload they are in the ballpark for the cheapest option, just slightly more expensive than air system. G...

Use a double run to fill the dyer with a vfd control on it and a 40hp 5" air system to take from the dryer to the bins with vfd control to minimize damage. Double run does make a little more noise than a leg. Much cheaper than a leg. Loose capacity over 60 degrees incline unless a true loop setup. A double run always has grain wearing on it where a leg mainly with eventually wear the cups and ...

Grain pumps are effective, gentile relatively cheap. BUT are very loud when running empty. Full they seem to quiet down a quite a bit, but you still hear it. Legs are nearly silent empty, and can only hear the grain coming in or out when full. Depending on the use, both have their place.

Used pump on drying system to unload dryer. Had a VFD to control blower for power savings and flow rate on grain. Discharge moisture at 17%+- hot and steeped corn in bin day or two then cooled and finished removing moisture. 50 HP 6” pipe can handle 300 ft of length. Deduct 20 ft per elbow, vertical is 2:1 ratio. Damaged corn if over 24% mst going into wet bin as it cracked drying and flowing ...

Yes, millions of bushels. A bearing went out at 10 million on one . Have 7 total.

However ,watch degree of angle , never over 45 degrees without loss of capacity. Manufacturer overstated capacity . on 10 inch pump takes 16 minutes to unload 1200 bu of 25 percent corn .

Make sure to leave sprocket shield on as a mill right did not and covered it with a hopper lid . Result was cracked corn . A leg...
