What are people using as a nurse crop for alfalfa
We are using green mix it is forage peas and forage oats I'm really happy with the tonnage

We have had the best stand planting into fall triticale stubble. This also makes a great triticale/alfalfa mixed crop that the beef guys love, especially for calves.

We've most often done oats when spring seeding alfalfa. We don't usually put a nurse crop with our fall seeded alfalfa.
I just heard about using peas this year and I like the idea.
