II've been told a cheap and effective way to add sulfur is to use Epson Salts and Borax. The recommended amount figures to 1/20 lb of each per acre foliar applied. I'm extremely low in both areas and was looking to up rate to 1/4 lb per acre sprayed on ground pre-plant this fall for wheat. Thoughts? Concerns?

Check you're boron levels! You can over apply boron! Also, the magnesium in Epson salts can impact your potassium availability and your CEC in your soil. If you want a cheaper form of sulfur look into elemental sulfur.

we have used as much as 5# of epsom salts foliar per application on trees, with no ill effects. We haven’t specifically used borax, but we use lots of other boron products, I’ve put as much as 5# of actual boron per acre on the ground with no issue. I put 2-3# of actual boron via 15-20# of granubor this year on my spring wheat and corn, again no issues.
Those rates seem low enough to not worry ab...

You are going to get funny looks leaving Sam’s Club with shopping carts full of just those 2 things. Lol. Never heard of this, but find it interesting. Hope someone that has done it chimes in for you.
