Anyone have any idea what would have made this ear grow like this? The top ear was small but didn’t resemble this one in any way. This is in Silver queen sweet corn, never saw anything like it and figured it was worth asking about at least. Thank you in advance.

That’s called ear smut. It’s a fungal disease that is actually a delicacy in certain Mexican dishes.
