Post emergence fertilizer for soybeans?

I’m thinking about testing some fertilizer products on soybeans. What do you guys use and when do you apply? Rates? I’m thinking I’d liquid side dress it but is that a bad idea?

Try a test plot the first year to determine the return on investment. The soybeans may look better/greener, but if there is no yield response it may not pay as a practice. We use liquid 3-18-18 fertilizer next to the row at planting at a rate of 8-10 gallons per acre. It is a food grade fertilizer product that will not harm the seed.
