What is Everybodys opinion on how Fbns generic products work verses brand name products

I cracked one open today. I’ll be able to test alongside a tote of Winfield Cornerstone 5 Plus in the same field My first complaint was the tote didn’t have the normal 2” male fitting, but a threaded fitting. Luckily I had a fitting with me I was able to rob and make it work.

Yeah, I’ll agree with you there. Kinda dumb not to come with a 2” nipple already on. We used 4lb AgSaver on all our preplant & half the 1st op in corn. Worked just fine, maybe slower than a 5lb would have but stuff still died.

I have had no problems. That being said, someone on a fb group was reporting that agsaver glyphosate was not actually the strength advertised. They had totes returned and refunded afterwards. I've got a few totes right now.

I still question his tests some. Did he truly test two 5lb AgSaver Glyphosate totes? Maybe, maybe not. Just because he flops a pic of two tests online doesn’t mean it is what he says it is. Does he test every shuttle of glyphosate he gets or did he just pick the FBN stuff to try to find something bad to say about them? He could be straight up telling the truth just hard for me to believe it 100% w...

We buy chem from FBN when it’s the cheaper option. Which is normally a generic product. We have not had a problem with any of them.

I’ve ordered approx $18,000 in generic herbicides this week, mostly from FBN. I’ve gotten along pretty good over the years with the cheapest stuff I can find. I guess time will tell if I made the right choice

Same here

Another thing to keep in mind is generics rarely have as good of surfactants in them..you pay for what you get..

If you’re relying on the surfactant that’s in with the glyphosate to be of help I’m afraid you’ve been misled. Then again, having never bought name brand glyphosate maybe it’s different. We’ve always added surfactant in the load as if the gly didn’t have any. Also add oils, etc as needed.

I felt that was the strong point for generics in glyphosate. Premium surfactant load at cheap elevator brand prices.

My agsaver kept constantly plugging my sprayer up!!

Had to clean my sprayer filters after every load..

Been using generics for years. Most work just as good but there are a few that I haven’t been happy with. The “agsaver” glyphosate doesn’t seem to work as well as some other generic glyphosates. But for the most part the generics are just as effective at much lower cost

I’m seeing the same. I’ve never had issues killing black oats in the past but I’m going to have to respray it looks like. First time user of agsaver.

Verified FBN Member (OK)

That’s the same problem I had. The buccaneer was way better

Verified FBN Member (IA)

Mine didn't change color. Consistency was thinner then Buccaneer. Had problems with it kiling grass. Switched to Buccaneer and problems went away.

Verified FBN Member (OK)

I didn’t test any but it seemed pretty watery. It turned green after setting outside for a couple months. I ordered some buccaneer at the same time and it had a thicker consistency and stayed the same all year and also seemed to work better

Verified FBN Member (IA)

Glad I'm not only one who had issue with that crap. I tested couple totes....some wasn't % active it's suppose to be

Verified FBN Member (IA)

I have been using generics for years. Same active ingredients way less cost. Never had a failure caused by being generic.

After all it's not Viagra lol !

Verified FBN Member (IA)

Are some generic I'll never use due to bad experiences in past with them.

Verified FBN Member (SD)

It’s like being the great value green beans vs green giant. As long as you don’t accidentally buy the no salt added one you still have the same tasting green beans for half the price

We’ve been using generics from other suppliers for years so I don’t see there being a huge difference. We’re getting the bulk of our chemical through FBN this year so I guess I’ll find out in a big way if I’m wrong.

I’ve been using FBN’s generic products for the past year . The important thing to be aware of is the active ingredient. If the active is the same or equivalent as a Brand name product you will have the same results. There also may be different concentrations than your used to but that’s just a matter of proper volume and tank mixes. I work closely with my fbn chem rep and she makes sure everythin...
