Run the old fast. Dad doesn't like it. Says it runs to shallow for him and hard to mark the rows he claims.
Ydrops are yall talking about the y360 type applicator that runs on top of the ground from this rig?

I have a Fast 8218 sidefold that I put YDrops on a few years ago (ran coulters for several years before that) and we have had zero issues with the bar.  Its wide in transport but not tall.

I was using a Fast vertical fold 24 row before that and it is wide and tall in transport.  On the early ones I know there were some issues with the center frame bending and bending.

I have a couple customers that have the newer Unverferth sidedress bars, one has YDrops one doesn't.  Seems like a nice bar, no frame issues.  Narrow in transport, not too tall.

New J&M bar looks nice, just saw it at Louisville.   Looks narrow and not too tall.

Newer Fast bar looks good too.  Sounds like the frame is good, most issues they've seen is do to operator (mainly not latching wings while in operation and bending fold cylinders)

It always goes in the ground, and is extremely well built. I like the design just as well as the Fast/Deere bars and it's a good bit cheaper.

I rented a fast with coulters last year. 24 row 20” spacing.  Easy to fold and operate.  Held very constant depth and trailed nicely so I could keep it off of the rows easily.  I have rolling hills so that’s important to me.
