Looking at a dmi tiger 2 5 shank ripper.

Just wondering plus and minus of them options on points. Using it to hopefully recover some of our sour land back.

Owned DMI for quarter century. Different shanks and points for different optional tillage. Heavy steel. Actually have a 3 point hitch blue DMI ripper 11 shank 30 ft hydraulic tilt up plus set extra heads for sale here in NC. Ran behind my Case 285, 405 and 335 tractors. Pulled it at 5 mph plus.

They take a lot of horsepower. They also not only have the potential to rip deep, but with cover boards installed on the shanks, they can really turn the ground black. If you don't have the leveling disks on the back, you may want to lightly disk after the tiger 2 as the tiger 2 can leave the ground cloddy, which can make it rough in the spring.
