I started with a Hardi twin pull type. Great machine, however slow behind my 4255. Next I had a Patriot 150XL. Great machine, a little small though. Next was a used Rogator 1254. Pretty much worn out. Next a JD 4830, relatively low houred. I loved the 2600 display and guidence. Pretty unbalanced machine. Much heavier on the rear axle. Next another 4830, practically new. Pretty good machine until I...

That’s actually the most important part.... When deciding on any equipment always go with the dealer that you can work with... Has good service both in-house and service calls to the field... My son chose Mahindra tractor in his area he lives now because the John Dear dealer was actually rude... (But if you go 75 miles the John Deer Dealer was great)...All equipment has its perks and quirks.... B...

How do like the Mahindra Tractor?

Verified FBN Member (KS)

This is one reason we use Precision Planting Equipment. John Deere just didn't have the expertise we needed. We went through a couple dealers but the one we have now is great.

I have owned both JD exact apply & Case aim command. JD R series cab noise is the same decibel level as Case. Engine noise instead of hydro noise, but it's the same volume. JD rides better, more visibility, built a little heavier duty on boom, more power, better auto steer. The Case was $27,000 cheaper than the Deere when I bought new, but I went with Deere because the dealer service and suppo...

I ran a 1274C Rogator it had 7600 hrs. Traded it off this year I don't know of any problems with it, just wanted to upgrade to a RG1300B.

Case sprayers are the only ones that consistently get ran up to 6500 hrs. Seen one sell it 9400 hrs here lately.

Have a JD but the next one will be an Agco. Haven't run one yet but everyone I've talked to says it's best. Worth checking out.

It's the only SP I've owned. High hrs. We've had little mechanical issue. Put a starter and battery disconnect on it last year. Put the PWM valve on the pump drive the year i purchased it. Had a check valve fail in the dual hyd oil filter base last year. All minor issues. Must be near 4500 hrs. I have neighbors that don't want to keep their deere's for very many hours but then again they ...

1386 rowgator (used & purchased cheap)+Boyd 132' boom (new)+Topcon X35/agi4 rtk w/asc10 running the sprayer+Tireboss TPC+capstan EVO= BEAST. I am very happy with my ownership of this asset. The 1386 could be quieter but its really a non issue. The rig is heavy but they all are. Buttler has provided great service/parts. The tireboss was a game changer.

We've owned a few of both. Personal opinions but JD autosteer was lightyears better then Case unless you get one with a Viper or Trimble monitor then I would say they are even now. Our last Case had AIM command through the Pro700 and that was a complete disaster they had to finally put a Trimble TMX monitor in to run it. Deere always felt more nimble to me then a case maybe because of were the ...

Case is a cab over design so when you turn around on the end you can look back and see what you ran over

A better question may be how do the Agrifac or Hoerst compare to North American sprayers.

I always tell people the Deere’s are for cowboys and coop. Deere sprayers are built a little to heavy, probably have better dealer support.

Case IH sprayers are lighter , so you can go quicker, get stuck less. Also the Aim Command is a must have if you farm somewhere that it is prone to be windy. Not sure what Deere offers today on tank size but the Patriots with 1600 gallons are really effici...

I am a custom applicator and I run Miller/new holland I cover about 40-50000 acre in a year and I run Miller, I have tried Deere I agree that the Deere has the best display but raven viper 4 is good it just takes getting used to, I like it because I have 400 hp, 1600g tank and I run an after market 170ft boom and I have more clearance and a front boom. The front boom is amazing. I like it better t...

You can't beat a case if it has aim command. When it's windy a deere will fog spray and a case will go straight down the way it's supposed to. And if you are spraying rough fields with the case you don't have to try and keep your speed up to keep your boom pressure up. Also the case boom sensors react better than a deere. If it's muddy the design of the case works better for mud and hills.

I totally agree! That’s about where I am now. My machine is exactly apply and am starting to have a few issues here and there. Case offered me a heck of a deal but I just don’t know anything about red sprayers being that I haven’t owned one. Thanks for sharing helpful information.

U ***, happy to help. Another thing to consider is you will not find anyone better than deere when it comes to service and parts

I custom spray for an elevator and run a R4045. I cover roughly 20,000-25,000 acres a year. Cant beat the green star system in the deeres. Runs flawlessly and very accurate and responsive. Also the booms are unmatched. By far the strongest booms on the market. Have had no issues with them at all, no cracking or anything and have been maintenance free for me. There are case sprayers that run next t...

20-25,000: acres a year? We, run 45-50,000 each , on 2 NITRO’s. Next ones will be Tridents or AgTruk out of MT, because of road speed. and balance. The, new Raven boom control is the best we’ve ever run....compared all of them. Deere does have a great data system, but i want to say who it is shared with.

Verified FBN Member (IA)

I put roughly 500hours on it give or take per year. I have just a touch over 2,000 hours on it now and plan to run it another year. Havent had any major problems at all on it. After next year I'll probably consider trading it off for a new one, simply for the fact of time is money for me and if I can update to a newer more reliable machine with full warranty it will benefit me. Not because I feel ...

How many hrs are you running them before it gets traded for a new one?

Verified FBN Member (SK, CAN)

Anyone who actually farms knows this is the most ridiculous question asked to date. Even the farmers who bleed green around here run Patriots as it’s not even close in comparison. Next question please.

Verified FBN Member (MT)

Yep! I’ve ran both. the green star is the only win for the Deere.

Verified FBN Member (TN)

It’s funny how FBN removed my comment to this post but left this guys original post. Looks like they need to review their own community content policy and apply it across the board equally.

My john deere is better, only because its a hagie sts12.

Hands down agree without a doubt no comparison. ***** is definitely the leader in ag spray especially now that it's fully integrated with John Deere's auto steer and monitor. Now that John Deere owns all of ***** I'm just wondering how long it's going to take them to slap their sticker on it. There is a rule of thumb though If John Deere can't beat the best they'll buy the best out and that they ...

That I can believe!

Verified FBN Member (CO)

Case sprayers will be quieter than any 4940, 30 series, 20 series, but I don't know about the R series. I haven't ran one of those. I think a 4930 has slightly better boom visibility when going through the field over a 4430. 4430 better roading visibility w/120'. JD will be the heavier of the two. I believe the Greenstar system to be the best out there. I think the case 120' boom is more responsiv...
