Tar Spot in Corn Poll Results: June 30, 2026

This week we asked FBN members whether or not they had observed tar spot in their corn yet this season. While it is still early in the season for much of the corn belt, 49 of the 518 members who responded claim to have observed tar spot in their corn this season.

The "yes" observations came from a wide geography:

• As far south as Avoyelles Parish, LA
• As far north as Divide County, ND
• As far east as Lehigh County, PA
• And roughly 45 other counties in between!

If confirmed in places like Avoyelles Parish and Divide County, these would be first official reports of this disease in these counties (https://corn.ipmpipe.org/tar-spot/).
