Agronomy
We are receiving consistent reports from local agronomists, customers, and social media channels indicating that western bean cutworm (WBC) populations have arrived earlier than usual across the Western Corn Belt. Because moth flight and egg-laying have ramped up ahead of schedule, waiting for traditional scouting timelines could leave your crops highly vulnerable. If you haven't scouted yet, prioritize walking your corn fields soon, both pre-tassel and early-tassel to catch the threat early. Adult moths lay white egg masses on the top side of corn leaves. If you need help confirming identity of WBC adult moths or egg masses, send pictures to your FBN rep or local agronomist.
