2025 Corn Planting Progress 5/29 Results

The final corn planting progress poll of the season dropped yesterday and with just over 2,300 members responding we show corn planting at ~86% complete. With the USDA report from this past Monday showing 87% I suspect those still working to get corn in didn't make much progress this week. With with warm and dry weather finally on the horizon for those areas still going in KY, IN, OH and PA, hopefully those areas can near completion next week.

More than any year I can remember the continual wet pattern seems to have hit the same places pretty consistently and the places still to plant have quite a bit to go. Nationally though, planting progress has stayed ahead of last year and at or above the 5-year average.

Let us know if you still have corn to plant in the comments below. We'll be back next week for our final soybean poll.

thanks for sharing. Hopefully the eastern corn belt can “get er done”…I feel “here” in NEIA we are way behind on heat units compared to most years by this time. Took 2 weeks for the corn to poke through during this last half of May. Usually would take 1/2 that time. Moisture has been great! Stands look very nice. Do you/or anyone know someone who tracks GDU accumulation ? Just curious.
