I found roughly 20 acres of old fallow ground that I’m going to farm into the 2022 season.

Its my first time farming something like this any suggestions on what I should do ?

Any chance you could get manure put on? Will help it much more than commercial fertilizer.

We had some 15 year filter strips come out this year.  We burned them down early.  Set the planter to basically max down pressure and no tilled corn into them.  Had great success.

Make sure to check with local Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) office to make sure you are not sod busting.  It is best to keep on the good side of NRCS. They will also help you make a plan to farm this based on the type of soil. Our office is very good to work with.
