Polls
With an absence of data coming from the USDA due to the current government shutdown, we decided to poll FBN members this week on the progress of their 2025 corn harvest. With just over 1900 members responding, national corn harvest appears to be at roughly 56% completion. This is up between 10-15% vs. some of the other independent polls released across the industry on October 15, but down from last year’s pace that put harvest at near 76% complete on October 24, 2024.
The biggest gaps appear in the Dakotas, western Nebraska and areas of Michigan and Ohio where in some cases more than 60% of the corn crop is still in the ground. Let us know in the comments how harvest is progressing in your area and what challenges you may be facing. We’ll be back next week to talk about yield expectations.
NOTE: States surveyed are in line with traditional USDA surveys for comparison purposes and are not meant to leave anyone out!
