Can anyone tell me about Brevant seed corn. Is it the same as Pioneer

It will be different hybrids.  Some old Mycogen but a new very good lineup.  We see them in plots, strong 82 day, 92, 94, 95 and 97 day hybrids.

Not the exact same but going through the same pipeline and selection process as Pioneer.  You will have some exclusive hybrids and varieties but will also share some hybrids with other corteva brands like Hoegemeyer, Nutech, dairyland, etc.  It’s good genetics

We had lots of mycogen hybrids on our farm for 5 or 6 years befor the switch to brevant. Our problem with them has been when you find a jam up hybrid it won’t be available the next year. Same thing has happened under the brevant name as well.

Brevant is the new name for Mycogen Seed. Since the formation of Corteva with the Dow and DuPont merger it’s the brand that retailers carry. It is going to have access to all the genetics of Corteva so some old Mycogen and then access to the Pioneer breeding as well, it won’t have the same hybrids in its bags as Pioneer since pioneer is exclusively their own but they certainly have access to good genetics. Up here in Wisconsin they made a huge splash last year with a few good hybrids and aggressive pricing, this year haven’t heard a word, pricing isn’t very good and performance was decent but didn’t keep a lot of the acres they bought last year. I wouldn’t be afraid to try out some of their stuff it has good performance in your area. Full disclaimer on me is that I am an LG seed dealer and independent agronomist and used to work for CPS (Nutrien) as a sales rep and also Pioneer as an Account Manager.  Most companies have some good stuff, just see what they have to offer and what your neighbors are using, I’ve never been afraid to try a new brand if they have decent data behind a hybrid or two.
