what herbicide to run on brome for thistle and cedar trees

I just started renting 70 acres of brome waterways from a buddy’s dad. The previous guy who was putting them up didn’t do any sort of job controlling trees or thistle or other noxious weeds. What is the best herbicide to run in brome without killing it all.

Are you selling the hay and/or could it end up in a place where the manure goes out on to crop land?
You have to answer that question first. There's a bunch of stuff, like the earlier mentioned Crossbow (2,4-D and Triclopyr), or Milestone (Aminopyralid), Tordon, etc. That would do a great job on the weeds you listed. But they have restrictions on where the harvested hay goes because residual chemical can pass through an animal and end up on a crop field where they can damage a crop.
If the hay is going through an animal where the manure will go on a broadleaf crop field. Then you may be restricted to 2,4-D or Dicamba type products that don't persist as long in the environment. an MSM 60 (Metsulfuron) product would have a little more punch and doesn't' have the grazing/feeding restrictions at lower rates.
