FieldNet vs AgSense
We are in the process of buying our first pivot. We are hearing conflicting reviews on both. We are hearing FieldNet does not work great with Android phones which is what we have. Does anyone have experience with both? Thank you.
I installed field net on one pivot last spring. Really like it the only complaint I have is sometimes it takes a min to update. It has really been a nice addition to the farm especially since the field it is on is 60 miles away from my house. I would really recommend it. In addition in my experience zimmatic has always been more competitive than valley as far as new equipment is concerned in our area ****
Thank you for your response.
I have fieldnet and an android phone. No problems with compatibility. This last year I did have an issue with one of my units after the corn grew tall and I think it shadowed out the receiver. I talked to my representative and he is talking to fieldnet for me.
I dont have agsense but what i have heard from friends, you can't change from wet to dry via the app which is annoying. I hope this helps.
We run AgSense with iOS and are able to switch between wet and dry via the app with no problems.
Oh. Did you buy agsense with the machine or have it installed later? I know this buddy's are installs on old machines. Dont know if that makes a difference tho. Or maybe just his phone?
We had AgSense installed on several of our Valley pivots that were around 5-8 years old.
What do you mean by wet to dry his app.
The ability to turn off the water and have the pivot still move. Or start pivot moving without water in it. Wet=irrigating
Dry=not irrigating. When you need to move it out of the way for a spray rig.
On fieldnet this is possible from your phone.
That's what I thought you meant, just wanted to make sure. Thank you.
Had several issues with fieldnet at first but after a little time it is working fine. Like it better than anything else I have tried.
I have run AgSense and FieldNET systems. I really like the simplicity of FieldNET’s App on the phone. AgSense is easier to look back at historical info such as voltage, pressure, etc. As far as installation goes, I felt like AgSense was simple to install because it attaches to your end tower box. The FieldNET box is a little more challenging to install but basically ends up being an upgrade to your center point control panel.
Pay less than both of those and get better service. Use Fieldwise out of Ewing, Nebraska.
If you want to see what the User interface looks like.
We have 16 pivots all running FieldNET or AgSense. Night and day difference in my opinion. I love FieldNET. Ease of use, 5 second response, simple layout and controls. We mainly stay with the control system that the pivot company has. Our zimmatics have FieldNET and valleys have AgSense. Makes it much easier when you have a service call.
we have 6 pivots with FieldNet and wouldnt trade them for anything
Field wise is the best and most cost effective pivot telemetry. Can make any panel full control remotely.
