Polls
In-season agronomy polling made its return this week with the help of over 1,200 FBN members. On Tuesday we asked how you plan for fungicide applications in corn and soybeans. As you can see from the map of results, the bulk of the central Corn Belt takes a very proactive approach while areas further away from that core lean more towards a wait and see approach.
In total, roughly 62% of respondents at least plan on the potential of a fungicide application while the balance say they never spray. Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Nebraska led the way in the “Always Spray” responses with over 50% in each of those states.
NOTE: The colors on the map are representative of the majority of responses in a given area, but just because an area looks green for “always spray”, it doesn’t mean other answers didn’t exist there.
Tar Spot has been top of mind for many the last few years and Southern Rust had a larger than normal presence throughout the midwest in 2025. Leave a note in the comments and let us know how you’re planning this year and what (if anything) you think you’ll be doing differently to manage disease pressure. More polls coming soon!
