Are these check off fees that are taken from our grain checks required by law? If not is there any way to get out of them? It is just another way to steal from us farmers.

Thr Illinois Corn Checkoff is refundable. The Soybean Checkoff, no matter what the state, is not. I would strongly suggest you investigate your corn checkoff and it's success rate before you consider it useless. I personally know it's responsible for most of the record 2.9 billion bushels of export. The 10% ethanol inclusion in 98% of the gasoline is theirs as well. They continuously defend your right to farm against both the US EPA and the Illinois EPA. Their meetings are public so your welcome to come find out for yourself.
