Has anybody tried using Liquid calcium instead of ag lime to raise their Ph levels? Results?

Just talked about pell lime. My PH av. On a 40 acre field I rented this last season was around 5. The fall soil sample recommended 4 ton to the acre. I did 3 ton and will be applying about 400 lbs. Acre pell lime. The pell lime will give me instant results compared to 6 month to a year lag on ag lime. The pell lime is dry pellet form. I would think liquid would be better. Cost on pell lime is $320...
