has anyone tried mixing the ingredients together to make your own HalexGT ??

I would just get our product online -MesoXtra run it at 64oz/ac and add your roundup. It is still cheaper than making your own Halex. MesoXtra has Atrazine in the place of roundup in the case of HalexGT. Worked out the numbers for a guy yesterday. Came out cheaper because MesoXtra is only like $22 a gallon here.

I'll let customers who have done this before make a comment about their experience and weed control. I think it is a great idea and I have done it before in past jobs in commercial application.

But, I'm going to say something about how to do it.
If you want to get the equivalent of 3.6 pt/ac of Halex GT, you need
Mesotrione at 3 oz/ac
S-Metolachlor at 15.5 oz/ac
Glyphosate at 30 oz/ac

There's another thing to think about though, if you read the Halex GT label carefully, they ask you to put all of your NIS in first, before you add herbicide. The reason for this is that Halex is 3 very different modes of action that are all in a suspension of adjuvants that keep them "playing nice" with each other. It is very common to add Atrazine in also. If you load Atrazine without any adjuvant in the water and then drop your Halex in. You can have separation because the atrazine with out any adjuvant "unbalances" the mix. If you are going to make your own from active ingredients. I would follow the mixing order off of the "normal" way to do it. Because your not going to have the exact same mix of adjuvants as you would with a Halex pre-mix. And using a higher amount of NIS isn't a bad idea either.

The final point though. If you choose to make your own from actives. It is almost half the cost per acre as Halex GT premix based on the nation wide averages we have seen for bulk pricing. I think that's worth a lot this year!

all you are doing is mixing mesotrione metalochlore and roundup. If it’s cheaper I say do it, no problem. And I assume you mean mix ingredients in 1 at a time into the sprayer and not dumping  the 3 into and empty shuttle and making your own mixture that way, I would not do that

been a few years but I’ve done it or done stuff very similar. I’ve personally Been using Meso-Xtra with roundup on all my corn the last few years with good results. It has a high atrazine load like Lexxar
