Has anybody used ExactApply? What're your thoughts? Is it worth the investment and have you had issues with it?

I found that using dawn liquid soap helps out a lot on any dry chemicals. It keeps the tank very clean and the popits don't stick

I have run the ExactApply for about 3 years now.  I purchased the sprayer with about 800 hours on it.  I do really appreciate the savings and automation of each nozzle shutting off when field boundaries are setup properly.  With that said half way through running my first year I ran into an electrical issue on one of the nozzles.  After extensive troubleshooting we found the issue and Deere recognized it was a reoccurring issue.  Since it was a common problem a PIP had been issued to replace the entire wiring assembly down the entire boom.  This repair was over 13k so I was thankful Deere stepped up on this one.  No problems since.  My next one will be ExactApply again.

Unless you have a lot of odd shaped fields I don't think it's worth it. We have a new Hagie with it and had nothing but trouble.

I won’t buy a machine without it. Buy a high capacity 100 mesh strainer for your tender, run all the chem and water thru it when you’re filling the rig and that will eliminate stuck plungers. Rinse the boom with water water if you’re gonna be sitting for more than 24 hours, and it’ll treat you great. (Currently running a ‘19 R4044 @ 3,175 hours)

Purchased a new Hagie w ExactApply a year and a half ago.  Major issues w plunger sticking spraying corn chemicals and anything w dry AMS and fungicides.  Dealer suggests adding soap to every load.

I really like it. The main reason being when I go around corners, which we have a lot of fields with corners, it reduces flow on the inside and accelerates on the outside. The Pulse width modulating (PWM) I think is very accurate and does a good job. It let's you set the exact pressure you want at the tip and opens and closes the valve to control rate. The only time I don't use the exact apply pwm feature is when I am side dressing corn but, I can still variable rate the nitrogen too when exact apply is not on. I never use the double nozzle at the same time though. (Example a + b). I do like being able to choose A or B so I can run between 10 gallons and 15 gallons without changing the nozzle or turning them.
 The only issue I've had is electrical. And that is a big one. I've only used it one year so far from new last spring. I did have to have the John Deere tech out to help me find one plug that was not making good contact and causes it to go out, along with the rest of the nozzles past it. I'm nervous in the future I may have more of these issues but hopefully not and I've got the bugs worked out of it the first year. I ran TeeJet AIC nozzles on my previous sprayers and when I put them on the sprayer. It broke the "cup" on the nozzle which is replaceable but they're a little pricey. I think the whole nozzle body is like 300 bucks. The cups are $30 I think. I haven't had to buy any yet though.  I did have to change about four cups though. Since then I've done away with the AIC nozzles and ran all John deere/hypros

I have it on a R4038 it worked very well, than something happenend and then it is not working as well. john deere has not figure it out completely.  It works great than in the next load it whats to put more on or it is not enough. It looks like I need to run 2 tips  A & B. I like it for corners and slowing down or speeding up. I had the capstan unit on my 4830. It was much simpler and worked at any speed or any pressure.It is a little expense

my only piece of advice is DO NOT buy a higher hour machine I ran a 2000 hour R4045  machine and I had to hire custom applicators to do my spraying because my rig just sat on the ends waiting on Deere and with Covid we couldn’t get a new or used machine till the next year, once we upgraded we used Dawn dish soap at the end of every day of use and had next to no problems. I will say this if you have lots of corners it’ll save you chemicals in the long run and if you keep the plungers clean it’s the most amazing tech for a sprayer you’ll ever own

I have been using exactapply for three years. The only issues I've had are with the plungers sticking. It has been maybe 12 times and the sprayer tells you which one. I set my rig up with tips that are sized to use the pwm only on the ends and when trimming. Rinsing the boom every day is critical with gummy chemicals.
