We had a wonderful first day on the Road to Farm Progress! We woke up in beautiful Couer d’Alene, Idaho. After a quick stroll with our furry copilots, Chip and Stella, we hit the road for our first farm visit. We soaked up the scenery in northern Idaho and Montana en route to St. Ignatius, Montana, where FBN farmer Bob Winger runs a hay and grain farm at the base of the gorgeous Mission Mountains.

Bob gave us a tour of his operation and told us about his passion for farming, his biggest challenges, and his vision for the future. In addition to his impressive knowledge of agriculture, Bob has serious business savvy and shared several creative ideas about his plans to build the operation. We got to see how Bob packs and transports bales of hay and learned about how he irrigates his farm using snowmelt from the mountains, an intricate system of pipes, and gravity to bring water to his fields.

Like many farmers this year, Bob’s operation has been impacted by drought and unpredictable weather. He appreciates the peace of mind he has as an FBN Crop Insurance customer. He’s looking into additional FBN products and services to support his growing operation.

We also got to meet Bob’s sweet family, including his wife and their four young kids, as well as the lovable farm cat, Margaret, who is earning her keep at the rate of two mice a day!

Thank you, Bob and family, for taking time out of your busy summer schedule to show us around and tell us about the important work you do! Farmers like you are the reason FBN is Farmers First!

Today we visited FBN's Logistics Center in Great Falls, Montana. The facility serves customers within a 250-mile radius of the location, providing them with efficient deliveries of FBN chemical products.

Logistics Center Manager Tom Weaver took time on his day off to give us a tour of the facility and teach us about the vital work his team does to make sure FBN farmers receive the products they need. Tom had great insight into the needs of the community and is clearly passionate about supporting both customers and his team. (You might recognize Tom... He's the star of FBN's safety training videos!)

It's great to see the Farmers First mission in action and meet the wonderful people who are carrying it out every day! We're in Bozeman, Montana today, getting ready for a behind-the-scenes look at how Kevin McNew and the FBN Research team collect data and share insights that empower FBN farmers to make informed decisions for their operations. We're told we might even get to meet the office dog!

It's not every day you get to meet the Kevin McNew, FBN Chief Economist! Kevin and Director of Internal Producer Advisory & Brokerage Cody Bills showed us around their new office in Bozeman, Montana today. I've seen Kevin on the news so often that it was basically like meeting a celebrity.

Thanks, Kevin and Cody, for giving us a behind-the-scenes look at your work collecting data and sharing insights that empower FBN farmers to make informed decisions for their operations.

We were excited to join local farmers, ranchers, FBN team members, and their families to celebrate the opening of the new fulfillment center in Larchwood, Iowa today!

FBN co-founders Charles Baron and Amol Deshpande joined the group for an open house event to celebrate the new facility. Led by FBN Larchwood Logistics Center employees, we also had the chance to tour the center to see the cutting-edge space.

The Road to Farm Progress took us through Gillette, Wyoming, where we met FBN customers Mike and Erin Galloway of Our Wyoming Life! Mike and Erin gave us a tour of the ranch, where they care for their many animals, including cows, goats, chickens, ducks, horses, and even a pair of emus. Mike and Erin stay busy as ranchers, social media influencers, passionate advocates for ag life, and dedicated community members. Enjoy this sneak peek behind the scenes at the Our Wyoming Life Ranch!
